UMG's new platform demanded high-quality audio playback - on any device, anywhere.
Universal Music Group partnered with Tribes to help bring their new creator-facing brand, Gamescape, to life. They needed an enterprise-ready tool that could translate complex environmental impact data into business-relevant insights. The vision? A sleek, responsive platform that would allow indie game developers to explore, preview, and license dynamic, mood-based soundtracks. But the stakes were high. To meet internal launch goals and creative expectations, the platform needed:
Lightning-fast load times across browsers and devices.
Seamless audio playback, engineered for zero lag.
A sleek interface that matches the brand’s reputation.
To bring Gamescape to life, Tribes partnered directly with Universal’s internal team to co-design and engineer a high-performance audio platform built for precision and scale. We developed a custom audio engine capable of frame-accurate playback across devices, ensuring performance consistency under varying loads. Our team integrated motion and animation layers to dynamically visualise soundtrack shifts during gameplay, while applying rigorous frontend engineering to meet Universal’s brand and stakeholder standards. The project was delivered through a disciplined build process that hit every milestone on time, avoiding costly rewrites and ensuring technical integrity from prototype to production.
